HRIS integrations
Sync employee status, departments, and manager relationships into Doow.
Use HRIS integrations when Doow needs employee status, departments, managers, job titles, or start and end dates from your HR system.
HRIS data is different from identity data. Identity providers show users, groups, and app access. HRIS shows whether those users are employees, which team they belong to, and whether they have left the company.
Supported providers

When to use HRIS
Connect HRIS when the review depends on employee context:
- Find app users who are no longer active employees.
- Break usage or spend down by department.
- Match managers or teams to app ownership.
- Separate contractors, employees, and terminated workers where the HRIS provides that status.
Use an identity provider instead when Doow only needs users, groups, app assignments, or login activity.
How HRIS connections work
When you connect an HRIS provider, you authorize Doow through the provider or a secure linking flow. Doow does not receive your HR login password. It receives a token or linked authorization that lets it read the employee data approved for the integration.
After the initial sync, Doow refreshes employee data on a scheduled basis to keep headcount, departments, and employment status current.
What Doow reads from your HRIS
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Full name | Employee first and last name |
| Work email | Primary work email address used to match employees to app users |
| Department | The department or team the employee belongs to |
| Manager | Manager relationship where the provider returns it |
| Job title | Employee's role or title |
| Employment status | Active, on leave, or terminated |
| Start date / end date | Hire date and termination date (where available) |
What Doow does not read
- Salary, compensation, or payroll data
- Performance reviews or HR notes
- Tax identification numbers or personal government IDs
- Banking details or direct deposit information
- Any financial payroll data
How employee data is used in Doow
Seat attribution: Doow matches HRIS employees to app user lists from your identity provider. If an employee appears in an app's user list but is marked as terminated in your HRIS, Doow can flag that as a seat to review.
Department spend breakdown: When employees are assigned to departments in your HRIS, Doow can attribute software costs and usage to the right team.
Headcount accuracy: Doow uses your HRIS as the source for who is active, inactive, on leave, or terminated where the provider returns that status.
Confirm the sync worked
After connecting, open the integration detail page from Company Settings, then Integrations. A healthy HRIS sync shows a connected state, a recent sync timestamp, and imported employee records with work email and employment status.
If records are missing, confirm that the connected HR account can read the employees Doow needs and that those employees have work email addresses.
Troubleshooting
Use these checks when employee data is missing or stale:
- Confirm the connected HR admin can read the expected employee records.
- Confirm employee work email addresses are present and match identity records.
- Check whether terminated or inactive employees are filtered in the provider.
- Check the integration event log for permission or sync errors.
Disconnecting
Go to Company Settings, then Integrations, find your HR platform, and select Disconnect. Doow deletes the stored authorization immediately. Employee records already imported into Doow are retained until you delete them or your retention settings remove them.
Next steps

After employee records appear, connect an identity provider if Doow needs to match HRIS employees to app users, groups, and assignments.
