What Doow needs

Understand the data Doow needs before you connect integrations.

Doow uses connected data sources to understand what is used, who is connected to that usage, and what the company paid. You do not need every source before Doow is useful. Connect the source that answers the question in front of you, then add more context when the review needs it.

The three data layers

Data layerWhat it answersExamples
Usage dataWhat is being consumed?Browser activity, desktop app activity, tokens, API calls, model usage, events, requests, quota consumption
Organization dataWho uses it and where do they belong?Users, groups, app assignments, departments, managers, employment status
Financial dataWhat did the company pay?Expenses, vendors, account categories, transaction dates

Why Doow combines them

Each layer answers a different part of the review. Usage data shows activity, but it may not identify the owner, team, employment status, or finance record. Organization and financial sources add that context.

When these layers work together, Doow can help you answer questions like:

  • Which team is driving the most usage?
  • Which active licenses are tied to departed employees?
  • Which vendor costs are increasing faster than usage?
  • Which tools need review before renewal?

Useful starting points

Choose the source that matches the first review you need to run:

  • Connect a usage source when you need to see activity from an app, AI provider, cloud platform, product, or metric stream.
  • Connect an identity provider when you need users, groups, assignments, or app access.
  • Connect HRIS when departments, managers, job titles, or employment status matter.
  • Connect accounting when finance-confirmed spend, vendors, categories, or transactions matter.

Many teams start with one usage source and one identity provider because that shows what is being used and who is connected to it. That is a useful baseline, not a required order.

What to connect next

Use Choose what to connect when you need help choosing a source family. If you already know the source, go to Connecting integrations or open the exact setup page from the sidebar.
