Zoho
Sync users and directory access from Zoho as an identity provider.
Connect Zoho when Doow needs user directory records from your Zoho organization.
Zoho identity is separate from Zoho People
Use this page for Zoho as an identity provider. If you need employee records, departments, or employment status from Zoho People, use the Zoho People HRIS integration.
What you need
- A Zoho organization that manages your company users.
- A Zoho administrator account that can approve OAuth access.
What Doow reads
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Users | Full name, primary work email, Zoho profile fields, and account status |
| Organization | Zoho organization context used to scope imported records to your company |
What Doow does not read
- Passwords or authentication secrets
- Zoho Mail content, CRM records, Books data, Desk tickets, or product-specific data
- Zoho People employee records, payroll, leave, or performance data
- Data outside the approved Zoho Directory user-read scope
How to connect
- Go to Company Settings, then Integrations in your Doow workspace.
- Find Zoho and select Connect.
- Sign in with the Zoho administrator account that owns approval.
- Review the requested Zoho OAuth scope.
- Select Accept.
- Wait for Doow to verify the authorization and begin the initial sync.
Permissions requested
Doow requests this Zoho OAuth scope:
| Scope | Purpose |
|---|---|
ZohoDirectory.Users.READ | Read user profiles and account status |
Zoho OAuth scopes define the service, module, and operation type that an app can use. This scope is read-only. Doow cannot create, modify, or delete data in your Zoho organization through this integration.
Confirm the sync worked
After connecting, open the integration detail page from Company Settings, then Integrations. A healthy Zoho identity sync shows a connected state, a recent sync timestamp, and imported users from the expected Zoho organization.
If the connection succeeds but no users appear, verify that the Zoho account belongs to the intended organization and approved the user-read scope.
Troubleshooting
Use these checks when Zoho identity data is missing or incomplete:
- Confirm the OAuth grant belongs to the intended Zoho organization.
- Confirm the approving account can read the organization's users.
- Confirm the consent screen approved
ZohoDirectory.Users.READ. - Check the integration event log for permission or sync errors.
Zoho-specific checks
| Symptom | Likely cause | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Users do not appear | The OAuth grant belongs to the wrong Zoho organization or the approving account cannot read directory users | Disconnect and reconnect with the intended Zoho administrator |
| Department or employment details are missing | Those fields live in Zoho People instead of the Zoho identity directory | Connect Zoho People when Doow needs HRIS data |
| Consent fails or expires | The Zoho OAuth grant was denied, expired, or revoked | Reconnect Zoho and approve the directory read scope |
Disconnecting
Go to Company Settings, then Integrations, find Zoho, and select Disconnect. Doow deletes the stored authorization immediately. Revoke the Doow app from Zoho Accounts under Sessions, then Connected Apps when you want to remove provider-side access too.
Next steps
After Zoho users appear, connect Zoho People or another HRIS if Doow needs department, manager, or employment status. Connect a usage source when Doow needs to compare access against AI, cloud, or app usage.
