OpenRouter

Connect OpenRouter usage and routing metrics to Doow.

Connect OpenRouter when Doow needs usage, spend, token, and routing signals from the models your team runs through OpenRouter.

What you need

  • An OpenRouter account or organization with the usage you want Doow to read.
  • A Management key for organization-wide API key usage.
  • Admin access when the OpenRouter account is an organization.

Use the right OpenRouter key

OpenRouter's management keys are for administrative API-key operations and cannot call completion endpoints. Use a management key when Doow needs organization-level key usage. A normal OpenRouter API key may only expose usage for that key.

Create a management key

  1. Go to openrouter.ai.
  2. Switch to the organization or workspace that owns the usage.
  3. Open the Management API Keys page.
  4. Create a new management key.
  5. Name it something identifiable, such as Doow usage read.
  6. Copy the key. OpenRouter only shows the secret when it is created.
  7. Paste it into Doow when prompted.

What Doow reads

FieldDescription
UsageUsage totals by API key or account scope
TokensPrompt and completion token totals where OpenRouter reports them
SpendOpenRouter credits and BYOK spend estimates where available
ModelModel metadata from activity or usage records where available
API keyKey name, status, workspace, and usage fields where available
DateThe day or time range the usage occurred

Doow reads OpenRouter usage data available to the connected credential and aggregates it for reporting. OpenRouter documents activity exports grouped by model, API key, or creator, response-level usage details, and management-key access to API-key usage fields.

What Doow does not read

  • The content of any prompts or completions
  • Per-user API keys or application-level credentials
  • Billing payment methods or invoices

How to connect

  1. Go to Company Settings, then Integrations in your Doow workspace.
  2. Find OpenRouter and select Connect.
  3. Paste the management key.
  4. Select Connect.
  5. Wait for Doow to verify the key and begin the initial usage sync.

Confirm the sync worked

After connecting, open the integration detail page from Company Settings, then Integrations. A healthy usage sync shows a connected state, a recent sync timestamp, and usage rows for the expected organization, workspace, API key, model, or route.

If the credential is accepted but no usage appears, verify that the key belongs to the right OpenRouter organization or workspace and has access to the usage scope Doow is configured to read.

Troubleshooting

Use these checks when usage data is missing or incomplete:

  • Confirm the credential belongs to the provider organization you want Doow to read.
  • Confirm the credential can read usage, billing, metrics, or organization-level data.
  • Confirm the provider has usage in the selected time range.
  • Check whether the provider reports usage with a delay.
  • Check the integration event log for credential, scope, or rate-limit errors.

Disconnecting

Go to Company Settings, then Integrations, find OpenRouter, and select Disconnect. Doow deletes the stored key immediately. Revoke the management key in OpenRouter when you want to remove provider-side access too.

Next steps

After usage data appears, connect an identity provider if Doow needs to match OpenRouter usage to users and app ownership. Connect accounting if the review needs finance-confirmed spend.
