Doow Agent
Collect browser and desktop app usage with Doow Agent.
Use Doow Agent when usage happens on employee devices and the provider does not expose enough usage detail through an API.
Browser Agent and Desktop Agent are the same usage-collection product across different device surfaces. Use one or both depending on where employees use the apps you need to measure.
Choose where to collect usage
Pick the surface that matches where the work happens.
Use this when the apps you care about are opened in a supported browser.
Use this when employees use installed apps such as Slack Desktop, Notion Desktop, Figma Desktop, or similar tools.
If a provider gives you complete usage through a read-only API, use Direct provider APIs instead. If you own the application and need to emit custom product metrics, use the Instrumentation SDK.
Before you roll it out
Confirm the rollout owner and distribution path before sending an agent to users:
- which users need to install it
- which browser or desktop platforms are approved for your workspace
- which distribution path your workspace uses
- who will review the permission or privacy notice before rollout

Browser Agent and Desktop Agent send usage activity into the same Doow usage view. Choose the surface based on where employees use the apps you need to measure.

Doow Agent is for usage attribution, not content inspection.
Desktop privacy boundary
Desktop Agent is designed to collect app activity metadata. It does not collect screenshots, keystrokes, clipboard contents, typed content, document bodies, message bodies, file contents, audio or video content, or window titles.
For Browser Agent, confirm the extension permissions and distribution path for your workspace before rollout.
Confirm it worked
A working agent setup shows recent activity for the expected users and apps in Company Settings -> Integrations.
If the agent is connected but usage is missing, check these items first:
- The user is signed in.
- Tracking is turned on.
- The browser extension or desktop app is installed and running.
- The user opened the app after the agent was enabled.
- Doow can map the app, or report it as unresolved until mapping is complete.
