Navigating the dashboard

A tour of your Doow dashboard — where to find key metrics, how to read charts, and how to move between sections.

Your Doow dashboard is the first screen you see after completing onboarding. It gives you a high-level view of your software spend, usage, and team activity all in one place. This article walks you through each section so you can find what you need quickly.

The left sidebar is your primary way to move around Doow. It stays visible on every page and contains:

  • Home — returns you to the dashboard from anywhere
  • Applications — your full SaaS portfolio with per-app detail pages
  • Expenses — categorised spend across all connected sources
  • Subscriptions — active subscriptions, renewal dates, and contract details
  • Doow AI — ask questions about your data in plain language
  • Reports — generate and export spend and usage reports
  • Settings — workspace configuration, integrations, team management, and billing

At the bottom left, your workspace name and avatar are shown. Click them to switch between workspaces if you belong to more than one.

Dashboard overview cards

The top of the dashboard shows four summary cards. These update as new data arrives from your connected integrations:

  • Total monthly spend — your current estimated spend across all tools, subscriptions, and one-off purchases. Hover over the number to see the breakdown by source (accounting, banking, or direct integration).
  • Active applications — the number of SaaS tools with at least one active user in the last 30 days. Click to jump directly to the Applications page filtered to active apps.
  • Unused licences — licences assigned to users who have not logged in during the selected period. This is where you find immediate savings opportunities.
  • Upcoming renewals — contracts expiring within the next 90 days. The count badge turns amber if a renewal is within 30 days and red if overdue.

Each card is clickable — it takes you to the relevant detail page with the appropriate filters pre-applied.

Spend over time chart

Below the summary cards is the spend trend chart. It plots your total monthly spend across the last 12 months by default. Use the controls above the chart to:

  • Switch the time range (3, 6, 12, or 24 months)
  • Group by application, department, or category
  • Toggle between the stacked bar and line views

Hover over any data point to see the exact amount and what contributed to it.

Top-spend applications table

The bottom section of the dashboard is a ranked table of your highest-spend applications. Each row shows:

  • Application name and icon
  • Monthly spend (or last known spend figure)
  • Active users (count and percentage of assigned licences)
  • Spend trend indicator (up, down, or flat compared to the previous period)
  • A quick-action menu (view details, mark as under review, or add a note)

Click any application name to open its detail page. Use the View all link above the table to go to the full Applications list.

Global search and help

The search bar at the top of every page lets you find any application, report, or settings page by name. It also searches the Help Center — results from here appear at the bottom of the dropdown.

To the right of the search bar are the theme toggle (light / dark / system), the notifications bell, and the account menu.

Notifications and alerts

Doow sends you in-app alerts for things that need attention:

  • An integration has stopped syncing
  • A renewal is approaching and no owner is assigned
  • Unusual spend activity is detected (a spike above your normal range)
  • A team member has requested admin access for an integration

Click the bell icon to see your alert feed. Alerts can be dismissed or snoozed — snoozed alerts reappear after the time you choose.
