Customising your dashboard
How to personalise your Doow dashboard — saved filters, default views, widget layout, and preference settings.
Your dashboard does not have to look the same for everyone. Doow lets you customise the layout, set default filters, and save views so the information you care about most is always front and centre. Customisations are per-user — they do not affect what other workspace members see.
Saving a default view
Every filter and sort you apply on the dashboard persists for your session, but you can also save a combination as your default view. When you return to the dashboard, it loads with your saved defaults.
To save your current view:
- Apply the filters and sorting you want — date range, department, category, or spend type.
- Click the View dropdown at the top-right of the dashboard (it defaults to "Default view").
- Select Save current as default.
- Give the view a name (e.g. "Engineering tools only").
From then on, your dashboard loads with this view every time. You can switch back to the unfiltered view by selecting Default view from the dropdown. Saved views do not affect reports or exports — they only change what you see on the dashboard.
Rearranging widgets
The dashboard is made up of widgets: the summary cards, the spend chart, the top-spend table, and optional widgets you can add. You can reorder them by dragging.
To enter edit mode, click Customise in the top-right corner of the dashboard. Each widget shows a drag handle on its left edge. Drag widgets up or down to reorder them. Click Done when you are finished.
Available widgets
In addition to the four default widgets (summary cards, spend chart, top-spend table, upcoming renewals), you can add:
- Department spend breakdown — a treemap of spend by department. Useful if your HRIS is connected.
- Category spend pie — a donut chart showing the proportion of spend per category.
- Recent activity feed — a chronological list of changes: new apps discovered, integrations synced, team members added, notes left.
- Unused licences alert — a compact card showing only the unused-licences figure, for people who want the alert without the full summary cards.
- Renewal timeline (mini) — a condensed version of the renewal timeline from the Subscriptions page, showing the next 6 months.
Add widgets by clicking Add widget in edit mode and selecting from the list. Remove a widget by clicking the X on its top-right corner while in edit mode. You can always re-add removed widgets.
Resetting to default
If you want to go back to the original layout, click Customise → Reset to default layout. This restores the four core widgets in their original order and removes any custom widgets you added. Your saved views are not affected.
Date range default
By default, the dashboard shows the current month. You can change this:
- Click the date-range selector next to the Customise button.
- Choose a preset (last 30 days, last quarter, last 12 months, month to date, quarter to date, year to date) or pick a custom range.
- Click Save as default range.
The charts and summary cards update immediately. Your default date range also applies to the Applications and Expenses pages unless you override them there.
Currency display
The dashboard shows amounts in your workspace's default currency (set in Settings → Workspace). If you prefer to see amounts in a different currency, you can set a personal display currency:
- Go to Settings → Profile.
- Under Display preferences, select your preferred currency.
- Amounts are converted at Doow's daily exchange rate and shown with a small conversion indicator (e.g. "≈ €843").
This only changes the display for you. Reports and exports still use the workspace default currency unless you choose otherwise at export time.
